Iran’s 5 game winning run in Volleyball Nations League has been snapped after going down to Serbia 3 sets to 2.
Team Melli, who were facing their former manager Slobodan Kovac, got off to a good start and took the opening set 25-21.
However, their performance dipped drastically in the second, having to bow at 25-15.
Iran then won the battle of wills in a prolonged 28-26 third set, but ran out of steam afterwards as Serbia first tied the match with a 25-22 win before wrapping it up at 15-8 in the 5th set.
Vladimir Alekno’s men will next face Germany on Friday.
